King visits SeAH Wind
On Thursday, 12th February, King Charles III visited the new SeAH Wind monopile factory on Teesside. A video record of his visit can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wxudKPe9Jk Oxford Sensors Ltd (OSL) is proud to be heavily involved in the SeAH Wind project visited by the King. We have supplied over thirty of our unique scanning spot laser sensor systems to help automate the world’s biggest monopile factory. OSL’s customer for this project, JaeWon Industrial Machinery, is one of the main suppliers to Seah, providing all the machines for transforming steel plates into individual cylindrical cans or cones which are then joined together to complete each monopile. OSL’s sensors are used in the machines for plate to plate, ID and OD welding. As shown opposite, the welding process is triple arc SAW with long stick out torch extensions for high deposition rate welding.
